FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What executives and IT leaders ask us before booking a demo.

How long does deployment take?

Most clients are live in under a week. We migrate your reports in 2 to 5 business days, then you invite your users the same day.

Where is our data hosted?

In Canada. Your platform and data are hosted by OVHcloud in Canada and do not leave the country. Our practices follow Canadian privacy law, including Quebec's Law 25.

Do we need a Power BI license per user?

No. That's the whole point of Embera: your users access reports without an individual Power BI Pro license. You pay a fixed price, no matter how many people.

Can we use our existing reports?

Yes. Your current Power BI reports (.pbix) work directly on Embera. No need to rebuild them.

How does data refresh work?

Your reports refresh automatically on a schedule, 4 to 16 times a day depending on your plan. Your data stays current with no manual work.

Is there a long-term contract?

No. All plans are month-to-month, with no minimum term, and you can cancel anytime.

What's the difference with Power BI Pro?

Power BI is billed per user: $14 to $24 USD per person per month, depending on the license. At 50 or 100 employees, the bill adds up fast. Embera serves the same reports to unlimited users for one fixed price.

What's the difference with Power BI Embedded?

Power BI Embedded is a technical building block you must configure, manage and maintain yourself. Embera is a turnkey platform: we handle the infrastructure, the portal, the users and the support. You write no code.

Why not Microsoft Fabric directly?

Embera runs on Microsoft Fabric infrastructure but saves you from provisioning, sizing and managing it. You get the power of Fabric without the complexity or capacity management.

What are the platform's limits?

Each plan has limits on reports, folders, email subscriptions and daily refreshes. Users, however, are always unlimited. See the Pricing page for details.

How does Embera handle security?

Strict isolation between clients, secure authentication, data encryption, and row-level security (RLS) so each user only sees their own data. See the Security page.

What is the SLA?

We target 99.5% availability. Enterprise plans include an SLA and a custom architecture to fit your needs.
